• Fabbers needed NOW, great opportunity @ Maker Faire San Mateo 2014

    AtFAB is seeking four digital fabricators to produce a custom version of the AtFAB 5-30 Minute Chair to exhibit in the Open Source Living Room at the Maker Faire on May 17-18 in San Mateo, CA. If you’re not familiar with it, this Maker Faire is HUGE. Thousands of people will be streaming through the booths and exhibit halls, so the chance to show off your handiwork in this forward-looking venue is a great opportunity for you and your fabbing business.

    “We’ll provide dxf cut file for chair parts, as well as instructions/specifications for assembly. Job involves straight-cutting parts out of 4’x4’x3/4” sheet material, pre-drilling, pre-assembling, finishing a single chair, as well as flat-packing and shipping it to San Mateo, CA for delivery on or before May 15.”

    “Material and finish selection, as well as hardware and additional customization details are the choice of the fabricator. Chairs will be on display to tens of thousands of Maker Faire visitors, and will feature the shop/fabricator’s name, shop location, and contact information. Chairs will be donated to a worthy/charitable cause after the Faire weekend. Fabricator will be compensated $75 for material, labor, cutting time. We’ll arrange and pay for FedEX pickup to San Mateo, CA.”
